Description LAC Federal is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Library Technician to join the team. As the Library Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and managing the inventory of library materials within the Asian Division of a large, national library in Washington, DC. In this role, you will contribute to the organization, maintenance and management of collection materials in a dynamic environment, ensuring that information is accessible, accurate and well-preserved for our patrons. Description LAC Federal is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Library Technician to join the team. As the Library Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and managing the inventory of library materials within the Asian Division of a large, national library in Washington, DC. In this role, you will contribute to the organization, maintenance and management of collection materials in a dynamic environment, ensuring that information is accessible, accurate and well-preserved for our patrons. Responsibilities Maintain accurate inventory of library materials Manage the organization and shelving of books and resources according to established library standards Assist with shelf-reading and troubleshooting inventory discrepancies Track and report on inventory status and trends Maintain a clean and organized work environment Requirements Familiarity with integrated library systems (ILS) and cataloging practices Strong organizational skills with an ability to manage multiple priorities Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with staff and team members Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality in all tasks Korean or Japanese language proficiency Physical Requirements Must be able to frequently move from place to place within the location; file and retrieve books and other items on high shelves; lift/push up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 35 pounds. of heavy boxes, books, and equipment; work in confined spaces; walk; bend; stoop; reach; and climb.
