The Director of People Ops will partner with executives and teams to develop and implement effective HR strategies, oversee performance management, and drive organizational change.


Responsibilities

  • Support Commercial Sales, Home Improvement Field Operations, and Home Services HQ functions of Learning & Development, Finance, and Marketing.
  • Responsible for leading, establishing, and sustaining the process for managing the intake of performance improvement needs and providing and monitoring oversight for the implementation of people strategies and initiatives.
  • Develops plans and implements fully-integrated HR strategies to support the business operating plan with a focus on talent acquisition, talent management, learning and development, engagement/retention, performance management, recognition/rewards, and HR policies/procedures.
  • Through business and professional knowledge, identifies improvement initiatives that provides innovative solutions to the business in support of their tactical and strategic objectives.
  • Provides leadership and guidance for the successful implementation of strategies.
  • Drives change management/process focus and embed change management as a core competency within the organization.
  • Proactively drives People/HR practices to build a diverse, high performance team.
  • Ensure effective deployment of people strategies, including recruiting, performance management, and talent management.
  • Provides leadership for successful selection, coaching, and development of business leaders.
  • Offers leadership and influence for building a diverse, high potential leadership base and develop strong levels of awareness and understanding around diversity as an enabler of high performance.
  • Mobilizes HR specialty areas (compensation, training, organization development, talent acquisition, etc.) when needed to address business issues.
  • Ensures compliance with laws, regulations, and governmental agencies (OSHA, worker’s compensation, affirmative action, FMLA, unemployment, etc.) and federal/state/local employment laws.
  • Analyzes talent and workforce planning data to assess organization health; identifies gaps; creates plans to address recruitment, development and retention opportunities.
  • Designs, develops and implements human capital programs – talent acquisition, performance, leadership, succession, and retention plans to address Business specific talent or skill gaps with the Business Units.
  • Ensures appropriate development of and compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Provides leadership, development and guidance to a team of HR professionals.

Skills

  • 5 - 10 Years Experience
  • Solid functional background in human capital management and consulting.
  • Specific experience desired include: HR effectiveness, talent strategy, talent acquisition, total rewards, and organizational change
  • Strong working knowledge of FLSA, compliance, associate relations and regulatory climate on a national scale.
  • Experience and ability to coach and develop managers, preferably in a field sales (B2B and B2C) environment.
  • Ability to analyze information, identify root causes and develop/implement approved solutions.
  • Microsoft Office computer skills including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to form strong partnerships across reporting relationships.
  • Experience working with executive leaders in a consulting capacity.
  • Extensive experience leading teams and building consensus across multiple groups required.
  • Proven project management skills including ability to develop/document workflow, execute tasks, define metrics, and report status.
  • Knowledgeable in proven talent models & frameworks to develop and implement strategies for Business transformations.
  • Data analysis, scorecards, and budgets.
