What you’ll achieve
As a Software Performance Engineering Manager, you will manage a team responsible for the validation, characterization, and improvement of the performance of large scale distribute storage systems. You will interact with development managers, product managers, pre- and post-sales support engineers, and customers to help define, explain, and validate performance requirements, to understand performance relative to those requirements, and to contribute to continuous improvement of the product.

You will:
Build, lead and develop a globally distributed team of software engineers, managing the hiring, staffing and maintenance of a diverse and effective workforce and the career development and performance management of the team
Analyze and investigate performance engineering issues and tasks, help design and scope investigations, and analyze, interpret, and communicate results
Guide team to develop solutions to difficult technical problems, which may require ingenuity and creativity
Collaborate cross functionally with engineering team members and other engineering groups, educating and advocating for performance principals
Interface with senior management to report on project and program milestones and issues and to propose solutions.

Essential Requirements
8–12 years of software engineering experience
At least 2 years of managerial/leadership experience
Deep technical expertise in performance principals and distributed system performance on Linux
Expertise in performance engineering beyond test, and ability to coach/mentor team on in-depth analysis of issues
Desirable Requirements
Bachelor’s degree
Understanding of software engineering processes and methodologies
