Performs non-destructive testing (NDT) on materials, manufactured items, and components. Inspects metallic and non-metallic materials, parts, and assemblies for defects using automated and manual NDT methods and techniques including ultrasound, infrared thermography, radiography, penetrant, magnetic particle, eddy current, and visual testing. Reads and interprets technical procedures and work instructions to conduct evaluations for acceptance/rejection of hardware/products. Provides other engineering support for all Space Systems programs and sites. Works primarily with a team but also works independently to perform day-to-day tasks. Additionally, works with remote teams of NDT personnel. Supports program-required inspections during off-shifts, sometimes with short notice, to ensure program hardware production is on-schedule. Upon starting in your new role, your manager and senior NDT engineers will help you develop a plan to acquire and maintain multiple LM Space NDT Level II certifications per NAS-410.

Basic Qualifications:

• High School diploma, or equivalent experience/combined education, with additional specialized technical training equivalent to a technical Associate’s degree and/or demonstrated ability to perform assigned technical/para-engineering tasks

• Minimum experience of 3 years performing Radiographic Testing (RT)

• Previous or current NAS-410 level II Radiographic (RT) Film/Non-Film certification

• Experience in Computed Tomography (CT) or Digital Radiography (DR). Candidate must provide formal and OJT training hours.

• Familiar and experience with Microsoft Office products

• Experience with American Welding Society (AWS), American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), MIL-STDs, and ASTM International standards

• Must be able to obtain Industrial Radiography Radiation Safety Personnel (IRRSP) or State Card Certification

Desired Skills:

• Possession of AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)

• ASNT Level III in any of the following methods: UT, RT, IRT, PT, MT or ET• Experience inspecting aerospace components, composite materials, castings, electronics, welds

• Experience interpreting film radiographs, Computed Tomography (CT) and Digital Radiography (DR) images

• Good interpersonal communication skills

• Experience working with external and internal customers, to include Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA)

• Ability to acquire a Security Clearance (Secret Level)

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $64,700 - $113,965. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
