The Strategic Project Lead designs, develops, and implements large multifaceted projects in support of the strategic goals of the enterprise. They set strategies and tactics which lead to the transformation of global business processes and operational tools. The focus of this position will be to collaborate with various FedEx groups, such as local engineering and other operational and planning teams to identify feasible opportunities to move FedEx volume on commercial linehaul or FedEx flights.

Essential Functions

  • Establishes, monitors, and directs project work streams and provides timely executive management briefings on progress and accomplishments.
  • Implement new international network sorts at local operations and measure KPI's for improvement opportunities
  • Support Sales and Solutions teams on acquiring new airfreight customers
  • Strategic thinker that will help redesign the way that FedEx does air network Express business and promote change management principles at the locations that they support
  • System form, airfreight, freight forwarding Express hub/ramp planning experience preferred
  • Identifies potential risks and develops contingency plans and mitigation solutions.
  • Works with minimal management supervision to maintain progress and accomplish project goals.
  • Resolves and/or escalates issues to appropriate levels in a timely manner.
  • Leads or assists in translating business needs into technology requirements.
  • Uses project management practices to create project proposals, plans, budgets, schedules, and financial justifications from concept through post-implementation.
  • Analyzes business processes and operational capabilities to recommend strategic and tactical solutions.
  • Leads and directs cross-functional, cross-OPCO, and third-party provider representatives in developing enterprise programs and tactics.
  • Prepares decision analysis and reports for presentation to all levels of management.
  • ​​Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Education

Bachelor's degree/equivalent in business, psychology, behavioral science, program/project management, or a quantitative discipline. Related experience may offset degree requirements and related education/degree may offset experience requirements.

Minimum Experience

Seven (7) years related work experience and demonstrated proficiency in managing multiple programs simultaneously, development of program/project scope, business cases, program/project timelines, financial justification and management of program/project deliverables as scheduled. Experience in multiple disciplines.

Preferred Qualifications:

Pay Transparency: This compensation range is a reasonable estimate of the current starting pay range in NJ. If this opportunity includes multiple job levels, the range is a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary for the lowest level to the current starting salary of the highest level. Actual starting pay is determined by experience relative to the job, market level, specific location and other job-related factors permitted by law. Regular full & part-time employees (who complete 91 days of employment and work a minimum average of 12 hours per week) are eligible to enroll in medical, dental, and/or vision coverage, tuition reimbursement. Full/part-time employees who are age 21 are eligible for 401(k) after one month of employment.

Pay: 0-7 yrs experience - $9,064 - $10,537; 7-10 yrs experience - $10,600 - $12,010; 10-13 yrs experience - $12,050 - $13,200; 13-16 yrs experience - $13,270-$14,957 / monthly.
