The renewal event serves as a key milestone within the customer’s lifecycle where customers reflect on the value of their GitHub investment and take the time to celebrate and think about the past while also planning for the future. 

 

We are looking for a Sr. Renewals Manager to lead our fast-growing team supporting the Enterprise Sales segment. This role has people management responsibilities including driving employee growth and development, executing projects, and managing performance. They will coach others on strategies that support the long-term protection of business and mitigating risk. In addition, this role will work closely with vertical sales leaders, customers up for renewal, and engage in strategic projects that enhance the operations and scale of the Renewals team. This is a fantastic opportunity for successful leaders to shape the future vision of the Renewals organization. 


Responsibilities

  • Drive and execute the vision for the Renewals team in the Enterprise Sales segment.
  • Provide oversight of execution of business strategy, especially with regard to aligning GitHub portfolio and customer business outcomes. 
  • Ensure the team is delivering on retention targets and driving best in class deliverables and customer experience.
  • Gain experience building strategic negotiation plans and negotiate highly complex contractual terms in collaboration with the Account Team.
  • Coach teams through deals endeavors. Recognize and inform teams of trends across deals to guide teams toward new best practices. 
  • Act as a subject matter expert of both customer and GitHub strategies to guide the team in influencing the likelihood of winning new opportunities that grow GitHub.
  • Coaches others to optimize workload related to sales execution. Helps to ensure programmatic alignment; manages escalations correctly. Optimizes for the right level of investment and customization. Collaborates across stakeholders with appropriate breadth and depth.
  • Actively engage with reps and customers to de-escalate complex renewal contracts.
  • Lead, maintain and report an accurate standing of the Enterprise Sales renewals business and report on a weekly basis.
  • Partner with peer management teams to address gaps in existing processes and find an equitable solution for both parties.
  • Orchestrate needed resources for negotiations and proactively seek out issues that may raise compliance flags in deals. 
  • Report on trends of the renewal business and escalate issues where appropriate.
  • You will provide oversight of execution of business strategy, especially with regard to aligning GitHub portfolio and customer business outcomes.
  • Influence strategic changes to business planning, pricing strategy, and program offers.
  • Communicate risk clearly and take the lead in developing resolution strategies.
  • Cultivate a team culture that includes high ownership, customer-first focus, high integrity, and an optimistic and positive environment.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications 

  • 7+ years experience in contract administration, renewals management, consulting, project management, sales, or sales operations
    • OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Law, Communications, or related field AND 5+ years experience in contract administration, renewals management, consulting, project management, sales, or sales operations 
    • OR Master's Degree in Business, Law, Communications, or related field AND 3+ year(s) experience in contract administration, renewals management, consulting, project management, sales, or sales operations 
    • OR equivalent experience. 

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Additional experience in contract administration, renewals management, consulting, project management, sales, or sales operations. 
  • 4+ years of Software as a Service (SaaS) experience.
  • 3+ year(s) of people management experience.

Compensation Range

The base salary range for this job is USD $82,320.00 - USD $218,400.00 /Yr.

In addition, this role also has the opportunity to earn sales incentives. On target earnings (OTE) is based on a 70/30 base salary/sales incentive.

These pay ranges are intended to cover roles based across the United States. An individual's base pay depends on various factors including geographical location and review of experience, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant. At GitHub certain roles are eligible for benefits and additional rewards, including annual bonus and stock. These rewards are allocated based on individual impact in role. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee's role.
